Alcohol + Travel

31.08.15 - Franz Josef, New Zealand

Our founder @scottwoolley_ has always been drawn to remote locations using exploration and self discovery as a tool to fill the void left by alcohol. This photo was taken at Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand in 2015 during the first year of his no alcohol challenge. Scott’s first year of sobriety coincided with 16 months of travel and it was here he took the time to focus on his mission and purpose.

“It was important to find a way of inspiring and reminding others to follow their own path and chase experiences rather than fleeting pleasures. Travel is often associated with drinking but it doesn’t have to be that way. Learning to travel on your own terms can provide more fulfilment and as the distance grows between you and your last drink, confidence in making the decision to abstain will also grow.”

If you’re looking to fill the void this #DryJan we invite you signup to our monthly newsletter where we will be sharing outdoor inspiration and exclusive access to our retreats. #Arclett
