“When I planned to take a 100 day break from alcohol in January 2023, I could not have imagined over a year later I’d be where I am now. When I started thinking about removing alcohol, it seemed almost unimaginable to not actually desire it. I was a typical middle lane drinker; drinks on the weekends, glass of wine cooking dinner etc. No rock bottom moments but I knew I wanted to be healthier and was curious as to how much better my life could be without alcohol.

The absolute game changer was to think differently about it. To take a good look at what alcohol actually is, what it actually does, and how any perceived ‘benefits’ were actually the total opposite. Every single part of my life is better without alcohol; my sleep, my health, my relationships, my social life. And my happiness!

There is so much information available to us to help create these new ways of thinking… the literature, the podcasts, and the incredible alcohol free communities out there. Never did I think the world would open up when I cut out drinking, but rather than doing the same things in the same places and feeling the same anxieties, I’ve met amazing people and had life changing new experiences.

I never knew there was a whole world out there celebrating the joy of sobriety. I didn’t expect to find an abundance of people doing the same as me; going against the grain and seeking out a vibrant life without alcohol. I can honestly say it's a decision I'll be proud of for the rest of my life.”
