“I decided to go sober to get a better life, I’ve stayed sober because I got one.

In the midst of a decade-long career in hospitality, I found myself drowning in a sea of alcohol. It felt like every social interaction demanded a drink, and I obliged, thinking it was the only way to be fun and charming. But in reality, it led to almost every regret I have.

Choosing sobriety was daunting, but it was the best decision I ever made. I realized I didn't need alcohol to be myself. The best version of me wasn't at the bottom of a beer, but in the clarity of sobriety.

I found fortitude in solitude and in turn managed to break free from the cycle of drinking. Sobriety became my sanctuary, allowing me to rediscover my mental and physical well-being. With sobriety, I learned to slow down, cherish my family even more, and truly appreciate my close friends.

The decision to embrace sobriety wasn't just about reclaiming control over my life; it was also about finding strength in the face of adversity. As I navigated the challenges of my own journey, I found myself confronted with the harsh reality of my father, my best friend battling cancer. Their courage in the face of such daunting circumstances inspired me to channel my own inner strength and resilience.

Sobriety not only changed my life, it saved it..”
