“I got sober in 2017 aged 35 after a lifetime of drinking heavily.
After I stopped drinking I started to work on myself and underwent a transformation - part of which was physical. In a couple of years I managed to lose 20kg of weight through running and exercising.
After completing the London marathon in 2019 I decided I wanted another physical challenge to celebrate having been sober for 2 years and I climbed Kilimanjaro.
To say it was life changing for me would be an understatement! I fell head over heels in love with mountaineering and began to devote all my time and resources to it. So much so that by 2020 I had left my job and London to climb full time in Ecuador. This journey then to me to Nepal and an Everest expedition. I also rowed the Atlantic in 2022.
I now have my own adventure travel business True Summit Adventures and organise treks and climbs for people all over the world.
Transformation and self development is a big part of our adventures as you can imagine! We have had a climb of Kilimanjaro led by me and a transformational life coach and next year we are having our first sober trek to Everest Basecamp which I am co-leading with two US based recovery coaches!”
