Two Years Of Arclett
Hey everyone, Scott here.
Two years… Wow. It’s hard to put into words, but I’ll try.
Firstly, THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us. It feels like only yesterday I was preparing content for launch, but 542 posts + 67 sober stories later, we’re here ~ and that’s all thanks to you. While our community feels small at times, put over 5000 people in a room, and that’s a lot of people.
This year, my solo mission ended as we became a team of 2. Big shoutout to Lisa who shares my passion for this space. Arclett feels stronger because of the time and energy she’s brought.
In 2024 we also collaborated with some amazing partners who helped amplify our message and provided a shared space for sober curiosity.
For those of you new here, it’s important to share how & why we’re here.
How ~ During lockdown, I shared my sober story for the first time. I was overwhelmed by messages from strangers saying my story inspired them to stop drinking. It reminded me that positive change can be sparked through online influence, in a social media-driven world. That feedback planted the seed for Arclett.
Why ~ I wondered, what if I could combine my professional experience of alcohol with my lived experience to create a platform? A safe space where people could explore sober curiosity ~ something I wish I’d had when I began my sober journey. Stigma is the biggest barrier preventing our community from exploring their relationship with alcohol, so our mission is to normalise sober curiosity & dismantle stigma.
As 2024 draws to a close, whether you’ve shared your story, dropped a like, or reached out, know that I’m always grateful and inspired by your journey.
If you are worried about the void left by alcohol, being sober for the past 9 years has given me time to do more of what I love. Spending time outdoors with my camera has been a lifeline at times for my mental health and a positive escape. That’s why our content is designed to inspire you to get outdoors, connect with nature, and remind you there is a fulfilling life beyond alcohol.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to humanising & normalising an alcohol-free lifestyle in 2025, together, as a collective.
